As Halloween is approaching, today we're all about the decadent treats. Yes, you read it right – we made healthier vegan twix bar squares and we can't wait to share the recipe with you.
Indulging and enjoying chocolate doesn't necessarily have to be an unhealthy thing.
No need to feel guilty while enjoying the most delicious Halloween treats.

VEGAN TWIX

CRUST INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups ground gluten free oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

CARAMEL LAYER INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

CHOCOLATE COATING INGREDIENTS:

  • 4-5 tablespoons Chocolate Lover Mix
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoons maple syrup

DIRECTIONS:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the crust very well to form a dough.
  • Place greaseproof paper on a baking sheet, place the dough on there and spread it into a 1cm thick batter.
  • Use a fork to stitch little holes into the batter and let it bake for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Take out the baking sheet and let everything cool down.
  • Combine all the ingredients for the caramel layer.
  • Heat it up on very low heat until you have an even and smooth mixture.
  • Let it cool down, spread it over your crust and let it sit in the freezer for half an hour. 
  • For the Chocolate Lover coating, melt the coconut oil on very low heat.
  • Take it off the stove and stir in maple syrup and Chocolate Lover Mix until you have a smooth coating. 
  • Spread it over your Twix Bar sheet and put it back into the freezer for another 20 minutes.
  • Take the baking sheet out and cut the Twix in little squares with a very sharp knife.
  • Enjoy!
 SUPER TIP: Sprinkle some sea salt over the chocolate coating when it's still wet!
